Accessibility

Built to be used by everyone

Our commitment

Otohpia is a product for families, and grandparents are a core part of that. We hold ourselves to WCAG 2.1 Level AA as the baseline for everything we ship, and we treat accessibility as a requirement, not a finishing touch.

What we do

  • Semantic HTML and landmarks so screen readers can navigate the page.
  • Every flow is completable with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
  • Interactive controls are large enough to tap comfortably (44×44px).
  • Images carry meaningful alternative text; form fields have real labels and errors are announced.
  • Text and background colours are checked for contrast.
  • We respect your “reduce motion” setting and turn off animation when it’s on.
  • The interface works in both left-to-right and right-to-left (Hebrew).
  • No readable text falls below 14px.

Where we stand today

Our public pages, the home page, the survey, the waitlist, and the beta sign-in, have been audited against WCAG 2.1 AA and substantially conform, with one known exception below. The rest of the product is still in active development and will be audited before it opens to families.

Known exception. Our brand pink buttons and labels use white text on a bright pink (#FF1C82), which measures about 3.66:1, below the 4.5:1 the standard asks for on normal-size text. We’ve chosen to keep the brand colour for now while we work out how to meet the ratio without losing our identity. Everything around it, including body text, captions, and form controls, meets the standard.

Tell us if something doesn't work

If any part of Otohpia is hard to use with assistive technology, or you hit a barrier we’ve missed, please email hello@otohpia.com. Tell us the page and what got in your way, and we’ll fix it. Real reports from real people are the best audit there is.
